DVD to AVI Conversion - Movavi Videosuite Coupon

By Luke Richards

Converting DVD to AVI files has several advantages. They are single files that can conveniently store an entire movie in one place on your hard drive that takes up less space than a typical DVD file while still maintaining decent quality picture and sound. They are typically stored using a DivX or Xvid codec by a backup program.

AVI files are probably the most common type of movie file that exists for storing large movie files. They are so common that many DVD player manufacturers include support for them, so you can play them on your TV (if you have the right buring software).

A great software program that can do all this is the Movavi videosuite. It can burn, edit, and copy videos, amongst many other things. It is used by people personally to backup their own DVD collections and also by professionals who edit and publish their own video.

It only takes a few steps to backup your DVDs to AVI files with Movavi Videosuite:

1. Run Movavi Videosuite, click the ' DVD' button and choose 'Add DVD' to backup the entire disc. Browse the disc for the biggest IFO or VOB files, which are typically the movie files.

2. Select the correct audio track for the movie.

3. Choose the output format for the movie. You will probably want that to be AVI in DivX or Xvid format.

4. Choose where on your hard disk you want to copy the file you're saving.

5. Click the convert button to begin backing up your dvd.

Using this method you can store your DVDs in a small amount of space. If you want you can even burn them back to another DVD and store up to 4 or 5 movies on a single DVD!

Only backup movies that you are allowed to back up! Those are movies that you have originally purchased to watch. You are allowed to keep a single backup copy if something happens to the original. - 15431
