Why Not Have Some Fun Right After Your Divorce?

By Carol Cavanaugh

We all deserve a second chance, especially since we're supposed to learn from our mistakes. If you've just experienced a particularly unpleasant divorce, it's time to forget the tiresome and frustrating relationship you had and move on. Surely you don't want to be alone from this point on. The best way to work towards a happier future is to start dating soon! You'll have renewed confidence and enjoy some fun times along the way.

Perhaps you've even considered dating already, but you have hesitations because it's been so long. Or maybe you're not entirely sure you're ready for it, or lack the confidence necessary for the journey. Everybody in this situation feels these emotions so don't worry. Just remember that you have the right to be happy again, and fear shouldn't hold you back.

The first step is the most fun. Get a new set of clothes, put on your favorite fragrance, and go out with a group of your friends. In order to find a date, you must utilize a social network. During the even, go up to several people and introduce yourself. Without being too forward, start a casual conversation. Don't be phased by rejections, and keep in mind that a rejection probably has nothing to do with you. If you make up your mind that you want to have fun during the evening, that's exactly what you'll get.

Also, don't start off too focused on the perfect individual. You're not looking for a spouse already, so try to branch out and date someone that you wouldn't necessarily consider your "type". Now that you're single, you can experience different people that you always had reservations about. This is your moment to live on the wild side of life.

When you have found a date then be excited like a 16 year old but mature like a 22 year old irrespective of what your age is. Make conversations about the neutral interesting things. Just forget about your ex and your past. Never cry and describe your sad stories to your date. Remember you want to have fun.

So alls going well, you feel young, sexy and happy after a long time. Your date is less than perfect, but you can live with it. But, you have started wondering where its heading, you will end up hurting just like you have before. The truth is that after the honeymoon is over things are going to change, but that's a truth of life which is not people specific. Pre-notions and a negative outlook will adversely impact a blossoming relationship, so be positive but keep a reality check.

Worried that your first date didn't go well as you expected? Never mind. It means that you have more chances to come. How can you find your favorite ice-cream if you don't taste a few flavors? It is a lot of meeting and greeting people and not fleeing from people. So take it one at a time and keep going. In your new life, learn from your past mistakes and keep up your positive attitude. - 15431
