The Basic Steps for Drawing Attention to Your Website

By Theo McLanahan

What good is a website if no one sees it? So it is imperative to encourage browsers to visit and revisit your site. There are tried to true methods for accomplishing just that. Below are a few.

Blogs are a great way to add traffic to your site. You can add a feed burner to your blog which will enable your readers to stay up to date with new posts that you add. The posts can be delivered right to their email or homepage. As you add posts to your blog, point out new articles and other content that you have recently added to your site. The more you talk about your site, the more interest you will generate.

Post links for other websites that might interest your readers. Ask the owner of the websites you post to do the same for you. Remember to network with website owners who offer products and services that will interest your readers so that you get the most benefit. By working along with other website owners you greatly increase the number of viewers that gain knowledge of your site.

If your website is focused on diet and exercise you want to include links to website that have related products and services. Posting a link to a website about model trucks and cars will hardly draw in viewers to your site.

Article reprint directories are another advertising tool. Several directories are available and it is to your benefit to send articles to all that you can. This is not a difficult process at all. Simply write articles and circulate them to various directories.

There are computer programs available to help you utilize article reprint directories. But you can do it yourself without investing in a program if you prefer. You can also employ a third party to circulate your articles.

By adding these articles to reprint directories, you are giving permission for other people to publish these articles on their sties for free. When other website owners publish the articles you have written, they will include a "bio box" at the end of the article.

You decide what information you want to include at the bottom of each article. You can even include a direct link to your website which makes it easy for readers to check out your site. There are no requirements regarding the topic or length of the articles you provide. You can even have them written by a ghostwriter if you prefer not to do the writing yourself. - 15431
