Get more Traffic to your site

By Richard Chapman

So you own a website, probably a very nice one, but this does not get you traffic and without traffic your website is worthless. The only way you are going to make money is if you have good, regular traffic. There are many ways of drawing visitors to your site, although to get the traffic free is a very daunting task. However, perhaps the following will help.

It is a good idea to write articles and feed them to blogs. When an article is accepted by a blog or an article site, it will give you a good permanent link which will remain as long as the blog exists. Article sites distribute your article to other sites.

Forums are a great way to get both traffic and help. The big forums like Site Point have huge amounts of members and thereby huge traffic volumes. They allow you to link your site to your signature and these are extremely valuable links. As well as giving you traffic, you can ask questions and other members will provide answers, this advice is well worth listening to.

Submitting your site to online directories will give you backlinks. There are hundreds of directories out there, submit to as many as you can. These links are very valuable in raising your search engine Page Rank. The higher the Page Rank of the directory, the more benefit it will give you.

As there are so many directories, it is a good idea to use a submission service, to do it yourself will take forever. Personally I use an auto submitter.

If you can post your views and thoughts on a blog which is relative to your product or service, it will help to improve the ranking on the search engines. Keeping the content fresh and updated also ensures that the search engines can get to your site quicker.

The above are some methods to improve the visibility of your site. You may wish to purchase traffic but this is a very dangerous business. Nearly all traffic for sale is garbage traffic and you will get no real visitors. I would advise you to buy links not traffic. Links are forever and they ultimately determine your search engine ranking. To learn more, follow my traffic blog, its all free. - 15431
