How To Add Romance To Your Marriage

By Joyce M. Stuart

In the beginning of any relationship, couples find that romance occurs in abundance. Gradually though once they tie the knot, they find out that the romance has disappeared from their marriage.

Love struck couples, during the early days of their dating, go to almost any extent to keep the romance going with their partner. Romance though, begins to gradually disappear once they enter the wedlock. The security that comes along with marriage can be said to be one of the reasons for boredom creeping into a relationship.

The birth of children is more often than not the reason for boredom creeping into the relationship. There is very little time left for romance or love, with children taking up most of the time of such couples.

Leaving a note for your partner is one such thing that you can do. This will help you realize the value of having someone like that in your life and will give your partner the joy that you still appreciate him or her and you do care about them.

Think back to the times before marriage, and you will get various ways of surprising your spouse. Small surprises such as sending a bunch of flowers or even hugging them enlightens your mood and brings back the passion that is lost. You need to make it a point to spend time with each other, and you should make a decision that nothing should hinder this be it your work or children or friends.

It is important for couples to schedule some time to be alone. Not spending enough time with each other is in fact the root cause of romance dying out gradually from a relationship. Being proactive is the key to bring back all the good times in your life. A flirty message or a love note in the lunch box, are some great ways to rekindle the fire that seemed lost all these years.

Being creative is the key to bring back romance. Remember romance can be all fun and there is no harm in trying to be creative even at the risk of being termed silly. Something as simple as a 'I love you' note can trigger lost passion in your partner. A romantic candle lit dinner, with soothing music is another way to rekindle the fire that had gone missing in your relationship.

Romance need not all be extravagant. A simple stroll along the beach, listening to the waves is enough to rekindle the romance in your life, without having to spend even a single penny. Remember, a simple gesture or a gift or even a simple hug can go a long way in putting the fire back in your marriage. - 15431
