Bridal Fairs can prove to be a jungle for the bride-to-be. With thousands of brides and hundreds of exhibitors, it sure feels like you are in a jungle. So how can you succeed at a bridal fair and get what you are looking for? Here are some great tips that will help you get the most out of the bridal fair and do it with great style!
Get Your Feet Comfortable - In a bridal fair, you should be prepared for walking miles and miles. And the floor is not going to be soft either. So wear comfy shoes and leave those high heels at home. Dont be too drab either. Wear something that is stylish and preferably flat.
Your Timing Should Be Spot On At The Bridal Fair - If you want some one on one time with the exhibitors and some inexpensive wedding gowns, your timing should be spot on. So make sure you are at the show first thing in the morning. Also while everyone is busy at the fashion show, utilize your time to have a chat with some of the exhibitors. This is the best way to get some quality time with the exhibitors.
Take Sheets Of Labels To The Bridal Fair - Why sheets of labels, you might ask? Well, thats because exhibitors offer prizes at their booths which will require you to fill out your complete details. But with so many booths, you will be wasting so much of your precious time by filling out the same information again and again. So before you leave for the bridal fair, get a couple of sheets of labels and on each label write down your details such as your name, your groom's name, your wedding date, your address, phone number and email. At the bridal fair, you can just peel off one of the labels and paste it on the form. Now isnt that a great idea?
Beware of the Bridezilla - If you think that there wont be a bridezilla at the bridal fair, you are so very wrong. Expect her to be there. She will be pushing your Mom. She will be making fun of your wedding colors. She will push you around to get the prize. She will scream in your ears about how expensive things are. So what will you do when you come across one? Just ignore her. The more attention you pay her, the more aggressive she will get. So forget about her and enjoy the bridal fair!
Tip #5: Be Patient & Be Nice " Be the opposite of bridezilla. The exhibitors at the show have brought some really great deals with them... some that you won't even know about unless you talk to them! It's true!
This kind of mentality will get you far with other exhibitors as well. I find myself giving extra nice brides FREE advice! I know other exhibitors do too!! (because we all want to work with nice brides)
Tip #6: Hydrate! " The Round Up Centre with over 1000 people in it at any given time can heat up pretty quick. And you can bet the water ain't cheap! So bring along some water for your journey. You don't want to get a headache!!
Tip #7: One Step at a Time " Okay, the truth is that there are going to be A LOT of booths, people, and noise at the Bridal Fair. But it doesn't have to be overwhelming. YES, there are a lot of choices but you don't have to choose EVERYTHING or choose ANYTHING right there and then. Here are a couple of TIPS within my TIPS to dealing with all the choices:
Look For What You Want - If you know what you want, just look around at the bridal fair. As far as the rest is concerned, just have fun! All your vendors dont have to be picked right there. You might like some vendors and you may just not like the others. Get in touch with the ones you like and forget about the ones you dont.
One by One - Approach each vendor calmly, ready to hear the sales pitch (yes- the sales pitch). The exhibitors are there to sell to you. You're there to buy right? So if someone is overwhelming you just ask them politely to SLOW DOWN. You don't need the info dump! Ask the questions you want answered.
Walk Away Politely If Its Not Interesting - If the answers are not what you were looking for, just thank them and move on. Dont collect too many flyers that you know you are not going to use. Or else, when you get home you will just pick out the flyers of the vendors you liked and the others will just sit in some remote corner of the house for years. - 15431
