Selecting the Perfect PlaceCard Holders for Your Wedding

By Aaron H.

When a couple plans a wedding, the number of seemingly minor details that can create a huge crisis, if not handled properly, is mind boggling. Catering must be arranged, flowers and decorations must be ordered, a seating chart for the reception must be created and place cards printed, and something must be ordered to hold the place cards in place. One detail that can seem minor on the surface can create a catastrophe if not handled in the correct manner is selecting the perfect place card holders.

Place card holders can be almost any shape, some very staid and traditional, others maybe a little whimsical. They usually fit into the overall dcor at the reception in a very pleasing manner. Sometimes, the placecard holders will also be given to the guests as wedding favors, making it a good idea to choose something a little different.

Many couples find shopping for placecard holders to be an interesting diversion from the larger more involved issues of planning the wedding. Shopping for items that will serve as both place card holders and wedding favors is a better diversion. The couple will want to shop for items that do not appear to be cheap, yet have a very reasonable cost.

One item that leaps to mind when considering a combination placecard holder and wedding favor is a small picture frame that can hold the card with person's name on it assigned to a specific seat and have a wedding picture added later. These frames can even come in different styles to match any wedding theme and different forms, from a traditional desk top frame to glass coasters that people can use in their home and still have a keepsake item from the wedding in plain view. Using such items as place card holders is a fairly common practice and is practical as well.

If the couple wants to have place card holders that serve that purpose only, there are several small to tiny items that are slotted to allow the edge of the place cards to be slid in so that they stand upright on the table, but are not obtrusively noticeable. Of course, the final decision of item is ultimately up to the couple.

The greatest selection of placecard holders is probably available by shopping online. Online stores typically have a wider selection of wedding related items than traditional "brick and mortar" stores at lower prices. The increased selection may make shopping for place card holders take a little longer, but the final choice will make it well worthwhile.

Placecard holders are just one of small details that can easily be overlooked while planning a wedding. Failure to have them when needed can be a minor problem that becomes a major catastrophe in the eyes of a bride whose special day is now less than perfect. Choosing the perfect place card holders is a responsibility that the bride and groom share, which can give them a break from the tedium of dealing with the major wedding issues. - 15431
